Finding the perfect family hotels in Chicago can be a big task. We are the perfect people to ask because we go to Chicago three to four times a year with our two children. We love finding a hotel that fits our family vacation, includes complimentary amenities and of course access to the city! After many tries we know we have found the perfect kid-friendly hotels in Chicago!

Loews Loves Families

In December we were on our way to see the holiday lights at the Chicago Magnificent Mile and go to Hofbrauhaus in Rosemont.  We were looking for family hotels that had locations close to our specific destinations and would be a fun family vacation. We came across Loews Chicago and Loews O’Hare hotels.  The downtown hotel caught our eye with their Snowed Inn Package While the O’Hare hotel had the Upgrade Your Style Package. Then as we looked even more into this hotel that we had not stayed at before we found they actually have a program called Loews Loves Families.  Honestly, I was taken back at their commitment to families staying at their hotel. They don’t stop with humans either. Check out the Loews Loves Pets program!

Luxury Hotels

Both of the hotels we stayed at Loews Downtown Chicago and Loews O’Hare in Rosemont were luxury hotels.  The lobbies and common areas were so beautiful and had extra details that many hotels are missing. Both were decorated for the holidays in their own unique styles that matched the atmosphere of the hotels.  The guest rooms were so tastefully decorated. The Loews at O’Hare was especially fancy with their decor including textured headboards. So fancy!

City View

Our room had a beautiful view of Navy Pier and the Ferris Wheel, we couldn’t have asked for a better view.

Snowed Inn Package

Our package included a tent in our room!  The boys loved playing with the tent and fire, how fun.  They actually argued over who was going to sleep in the tent (well maybe their head and shoulders would fit.)  For little ones, I would imagine the playtime could go on and on with the tent. I loved this package and it included a lot of fun things, but I’m sure any package they offer will have fun amenities.

Close to Downtown Activities

We left the hotel for a few hours to enjoy all the fun at Millennium Park.  We caroled at Cloud Gate, went to Maggie Daley Park for skating and back to Millennium Park for more skating.  What a wonderful night of fun!

Loews Chicago Restaurant

When we arrived back at the hotel ETA Restaurant was calling our name.  We were so hungry and we had heard such great things about the food. The staff paid close attention to our kids and made sure they felt welcomed and at home.  We ate, and ate, and ate. Oh my goodness the food was so super yummy. Being from Wisconsin we were super impressed that the menu contained some of our favorite cheeses from Wisconsin Cheese shops!

Complimentary Snowed Inn Package

In our check-in care package, we received a complimentary package of sugar cookies, frosting, and sprinkles.  We each took a turn decorating our cookies. The boys said, “I don’t think we have ever decorated cookies in a hotel room before!”  Parent score +1, for unique experiences! After dinner, we ate our cookies for dessert and drank our hot chocolate. This was such a tiny thing but brought so much joy to our family.

Free In-Room Movie

The next morning we were not in any hurry to leave this beautiful hotel.  We used our free in-room movie to lay around and relax.

Sugar and Spice Hot Chocolate

Before we headed back out into the cold winter we stopped in for the Sugar and Spice hot chocolate deal.  When we ordered a “cheer” filled adult cocoa we received a free kids hot cocoa. Look at these! Oh my, they were the real deal, so super yummy!

Complimentary Upgrade Your Style Package

At Loews O’Hare there are always different types of packages available, this was our package.  I was a little confused by the title of this package as I thought I would have to purchase an “upgrade” but I was wrong.  “Upgrade Your Style” is the name of the package! By purchasing this package we upgraded our style because a $50 credit card is provided to use at the Outlet Mall or as you choose.  We spent ours at the Converse Outlet because we cool like that!

Loews O’Hare Ashburn Restaurant

The Ashburn is inspired by the first airfield in Chicago, and the aviation theme is tastefully done.  Our kids were so engaged in looking at all the pictures and reading the history lessons on the walls. Our breakfast buffet was included in our package.  There were so many choices from omelets and waffles to salmon and croissants. We each chose different foods and were equally as pleased with the yumminess!  The service from the waiters and chef was top notch.

Free Parking

Many families often are put off by the parking fees in Chicago.  We may have to add $50 to $60 to our budget on top of the hotel room.  Both packages provided us with FREE Parking within and out privileges. That means we could leave to go shopping or to visit friends and come back without any extra charge.  That is 100%.

Loews Chicago Christmas Decor

Our stay at Loews Chicago Downtown was the perfect stay for our family.  If your family enjoys being pampered and taken care of while enjoying unique experiences you will LOVE this hotel.
