Disney Pop Century Resort

It’s Disney Time!!!!!  We waited until they were just the right age for Walt Disney World in Florida.  We travel to many different destinations but this one we had to wait until they were at the magic age of, “I remember when….” and “I’m so excited to see…” and they can walk for long periods of time and they still want to be with us.  So age 9 and 11 is what we choose as the magical ages for our kids to experience Disney. I know, I know we could have gone earlier, then went again as they got older, BUT…really we only wanted to do this once!

We flew on American and had a great experience.  The flight was on-time and moved everyone on-to the plane with a friendly attitude.  The flight attendants were super cool and loved taking pictures with our boys (cause I’m that kind of mom!)  The seats had entertainment screens with movies, games, tv shows, music and the fly over map. Once the boys put their headsets on they were good to go, even during turbulence!

Landing at Orlando always takes a little patience with the train system.  However, Disney started Magic Time early as we approached the Disney Express area and headed to our hotel.

Let’s take a tour of our resort, Pop Century!  Around the resort we saw larger than life numbers and fun items representing the years.

The hotel lobby had awesome and fun shadow boxes representing each year.  It was so fun to “Remember when…” with my husband and show the kids our old time toys.

In the lobby is Everything Pop, which is the Disney Store and the cafeteria with a HUGE, HUGE selection of snacks and quick service meals.  There was also an Arcade tucked away in a corner but once we went into the Arcade we found out it was really big, we had so much fun playing four player air hockey and the boys loved the driving games.  They couldn’t pass by the photo booth!

This resort features oversized objects representing the different eras of the past.  It was so fun walking around looking and each object and explaining each thing to our kids…like an 8-track or a platform shoe.  Too fun!!

The resort has three pools, all three are pretty basic but our kids looked forward to that evening dip each day.  There were fun pool activities directed by the wonderful Disney cast members, including a dance party and movies! The pool nearest our room was the Computer Pool!  More on the Hippy Dippy Pool later, when we talk about our third day.

Our room was one of the newly remodeled rooms that have two full size beds, one being a murphy bed, and a nice sized bathroom.

There was so much storage in the bathroom, that we didn’t feel cramped at all!

We used Amazon Now to fill our fridge with water, soda and juice!  The Snack bar (that’s what we called it) was perfect for keeping all our snacks (also delivered by Amazon Now.)  Amazon Now is a serviced offered by Amazon which features quick delivery, in as little as two hours, and popular grocery items.  Orlando has this service and we found it worked great! It was delivered to our hotel and then delivered up to our hotel room! Easy Peasy!

We used the top shelf to put our Magic Bands on each night when we came back to the room, so we always knew where they were located the next morning.

We didn’t need a ton of room on this trip because we planned on being in the parks all day. We loved our little room, coming back from the parks where the temps were in the 100’s our little room was always super cool!

We can’t wait to share more about each day of our Disney trip with you!  Where have you stayed on Disney? What did you like about your stay?
