Fireworks Show At Magic Kingdom

After a long hot day at Epcot we decided to take the monorail over to Magic Kingdom for the fireworks.  I was so tempted to head on back to the hotel and cool down.  But there was a storm that passed through and we had some inside time at Epcot, so I felt a bit renewed.  The monorail was so fun to ride on, it felt like we were floating in the air, maybe on Aladdin’s carpet.

Drop off was at the front gate and we just walked right into Magic Kingdom (scanning our ultra cool magic bands.)  As this was our first night time show we were unsure of where to go and what to do.  We walked down mainstreet for a while, stopping in shops and enjoying the evening.

We moved close to the castle, and we spotted open seats at the outside seating area of the ice cream store.  Marty got in line and I saved the table and chairs.  The line was super long so the boys played with the “friendly” duck that was walking around the area and I did one of my favorite past times, people watching.

Marty came back with all the ice cream, shoot I probably should have sent a boy with him to help carry the cones.  We ate our ice cream and watched as the area filled up.  Once the fireworks started, we realized that the umbrellas on the tables were blockin our view, but we were able to stand up, and the boys just moved to the front next to a very nice family.  The show was just beautiful, I never imagined that they would use the castle as a backdrop for a light show.  It’s really hard to put into words what it was like, the music, lights, scenes, fireworks and people…it was…well…magical (you saw that coming didn’t you?)

We waited a while after the show finished to leave, it was really crowded.  Once we left we again just walked back down mainstreet, visiting shops and taking in the view.

Before heading out to the buses we found a little area, all lit up and glowing in Disney magic.  We sat at the tables and chatted about our favorite parts of Epcot and the fireworks.  Pau (Moana pet) joined us as we ended our day.  Mason and Pau have become great friends, but for some unknown reason his name changed to Ruben.  Funny kid!
