Camping at Jellystone Fort Atkinson is a memorable event our family will not soon forget. The Halloween weekend attracted us to the campground but the many amenities will definitely take us back. Jellystone is a family campground and resort with many choices for camping sites.

This is a sponsored post for Jellystone Fort Atkinson and Camping For The Fun Of It campgrounds. We appreciated the sponsored stay but all of these opinions are our own.
Halloween Weekend
We went to Jellystone Fort Atkinson family campground for one of their four Halloween weekends. The weekend was full of planned activities for our entire family. The boys played many of the games, dressed in costumes, went trick-or-treating, competed in the costume contest, and we all danced for hours at the Saturday night Halloween Dance! Campers decorated their golf-carts and campsites. It was such a great weekend!

Family Activities
Upon registration, our family received a small packet of family activities available during the weekend. One son was so excited to see tie-dye t-shirts, ceramics, and a hayride. The other son was excited about the costume contest, trick-or-treating and games. I think we earned Parent of the Year status before we even arrived at the campsite. We sat around the campfire and planned out our weekend using the activities guide. A busy and exciting weekend was ahead of us.

Fishing at the Pond
Unfortunately, we did not bring our fishing poles, we left them standing up against our back porch. Someone, who will remain nameless, forgot to grab them and put them in the camper. But we still went to the fishing pond to see what was happening. We did see a few people fishing and having a great time. Sorry boys, maybe next time.

Gem Mining
Gem mining caught our attention as soon as we entered the park. The tall water tower and rushing water was a huge draw for the boys. They bought their gem bag at the camp store and ran over to the water tower to start. The directions were easy to follow and they had so much fun! It actually gave me an idea of how we could set one of these up at home next summer. Just using sand, items we pick up at hikes and the hose.

Inflatables
Relay races, jumping as high as the sky and tons more fun was awaiting us at that Inflatables area. Jellystone is part of the Camping For The Fun Of It network, which focuses on having tons of fun things for families to do at campgrounds. We like to make reservations at these campgrounds because we know our kids will never be bored!

Pic-a-nic Basket
Our trip was over a short weekend, so we arrived late on Friday night and left on Sunday before noon. We also had a very busy week leading up to our camping weekend. Once we found out they had a restaurant on the property it was a no brainer to skip all the meal planning for this trip. The food was so tasty and it was served up by Deb and Kim, the nicest most friendliest people ever. It was so nice to head up to the Pic-a-nic Basket a few meals over the weekend.

Hey Hey Rides
The Hey Hey Rides (yes, just like a hayride) were a fun way to see the entire campground, meet some new friends and say hi to Boo Boo before we took off on our adventure. This, along with a few others, is one of the free amenities in the campground.
Pool
Pools can make it or break it for our family. We love to swim, play, sit in the sun and just relax! Jellystone Fort has two pools. The water was even heated! We had a great time watching the boys play games in the pool, cannonball into the pool and meet new friends. Even though there isn’t a lake or pond-like many other Camping For The Fun Of It Campgrounds, a whole line of inflatables is right next to the pool. The boys were able to swim, then jump out and go over and play on the inflatables, and we could still watch them. It was a great set up!

Skate park
This was our first experience with having a skate park at the campground. We didn’t bring our bikes but Mason did bring his scooter! He loved all the ramps and trick-bars at the park. There were other kids there too, so it was another great opportunity to meet new friends. As a mom, I felt the ramps were just high enough that he was having fun but not too high that he was going to get hurt. A great addition to a campground.

Playgrounds
Our kids love playgrounds, it usually doesn’t matter what type of playground, they just love imaginative play. There were three playgrounds at the campground, and all three were totally fun and provided at least an hour if not more of play. Cooper has a way of including all the kids at the playground in some magical adventure. It was so fun to watch them! (Ok, we joined in a little here in there too.)

Mini-Golf
This is always Mason’s number one draw to a campground, mini-golf. He loves to play with our entire family, with his brother, with random kids or on his own. If I can’t find him at a campground I always look at the mini-golf first. We were so happy to see that Jellystone Fort had a full 18 hole mini-golf course. The boys had a few pretty serious rounds of golf.

Campsite Variety
We camp in a large travel trailer and this campground was made for large trailers! We loved the large paved road with plenty of room for parking. As we took the Hey Hey Ride we also saw a huge variety of sites. There were wooded tent or pop-up sites, smaller trailer sites, seasonals, small cabins, and large cabins. This is great because often we camp with friends and this means everyone would feel comfortable at Jellystone Fort. We find that most of the Camping For The Fun Of It campgrounds have a great variety.
