Hollywood Studios Day 4

We scheduled Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World on the last day of our trip because we wanted our boys to experience the anticipation all week and not make us go back everyday while we are still in Florida.  Hollywood Studios is the hidden gem of Walt Disney World, but the powers that be are very aware of that, which is why Toy Story Land (which opened a week after we left) and Star Wars Land are both opening in Hollywood Studios soon!

We started our day at the diner Hollywood and Vine for the Disney Jr. Dine and Play.  Now our boys are a little old for Disney Jr. but we had a different purpose of eating at Hollywood and Vine for breakfast.  Jedi Training is first come first serve, by getting into the park before the park opened we were able to sign-up for the first time slot of Jedi training.  The first slot was important because it was uber hot out and the kids wear Jedi robes, which could lead to overheating.

There are so many fun things to do with pre-teen boys at Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.  We did everything Star Wars, Indiana Jones, roller coasters and for momma, we also went to the Beauty and the Beast- Live on Stage! Let me show you how our day rolled out.

At Hollywood and Vine, Disney Jr. Dine and Play we had a great breakfast at the breakfast buffet and met the Disney Jr. Characters.  My favorite was Princess Sofia and the boys loved Goofy!

We headed over to Star Wars Launch Bay to experience characters.  This was really an amazing experience for Cooper, he could just imagine himself in the experience himself, and just loved it.  We saw Kylo Ren, Chewbacca and BB8!

While we were experiencing characters Marty and Mason went to Rock and Roll roller coaster.  They loved it!! Mason wasn’t sure if he could commit to the “Best” roller coaster at Disney but it was a close second behind Everest. Just like with most attractions at Walt Disney World, there was a ton of fun things to look at while waiting to get on the ride.

Jedi training started with standing in line and getting Jedi robes.  This was a dream for Cooper, I think if we would have done this two years earlier when he was nine, he would have been even more over the moon.  Next, the whole troop walked through the park chanting about being Jedi’s. This was so fun, and parents walked alongside taking pictures and chanting too.  A fight between Darth Vader and Kylo Ren (I’m proud of myself for know how to spell both names.) ensued on a special stage with an AT-AT standing above. This was a great experience and truly a lifetime memory for both boys.

There were two Star Wars shows that take place right in the center of Hollywood Blvd.  One is on the hour and the other is on the half hour. Both were amazing, we felt like we were in the middle of a movie!

Next, momma needed a rest so we walked over to Beauty and the Beast – Live Show!  It was another Broadway caliber show! I absolutely loved the costumes and music, the singing and dancing were super fun to watch.  My boys, husband included, seemed to like it too! They didn’t talk at all and didn’t ask to use the bathroom, so that means they liked it!  It was all so captivating and magical!

Star-Tours – The Adventure Continues is a 3D motion simulator ride, that I cautiously agreed to go on, because it had an “Easy” option.  It was a blast! It felt so realistic and I didn’t get sick at all!! The boys thought it was one of the best rides they had done all week!

Toy Story Mania was so much fun!  Riding along and shooting things, how could it get much better!  Our day was almost done by this point so it was a nice way to end our time at Hollywood Studios.

Our last show was Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!  This action packed, audience participation show was so fun to watch.  It was just one thing after another, and had EPIC in it’s title so how could you go wrong?
